Meet Seamus. He is a fine Irish gentleman of 9 currently living in foster care in Missouri. He came to rescue when his owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for him. Seamus is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, house trained, crate trained, and full of that Irish business. Like most Irish, he counter surfs and will make his own mischief if left to his own devices. Seamus loves people but can just not tolerate living with other animals – he has to be king of his castle and no competition for his human. He loves walks, car rides, human affection, and wants nothing more than be laying on his human’s feet or bed. Steve, his foster dad, thinks Seamus is the “bee’s knees” and was hoping to keep him but the Airedale and cat housemates are not happy with Seamus’ constant bossiness.
Our lad is special needs as he has Addison’s disease which is currently controlled with medication that includes a monthly injection. Seamus is great about taking his meds and stands politely when his injection is given. Due to the prescribed meds and the disease, Seamus loves his water dish and needs to lift his leg often which he does outside – so he will be best served in a home with ready access to a fenced back yard and a stay-at-home parent. If you have room in your home and heart for an upper-aged spunky guy who needs a little love and extra care, Seamus is the guy for you. Complete our adoption application and bring this sweet lad home.
